Vista "LAG"
This is what the problem is exactly: The Computer will sometimes stall and not do anything but I can still click on windows and stuff. And also when I transfer files to the computer via another the computer will stop and almost freeze the other programs and still won't let me transfer files.
Specs of Computer AMD Athlon 64 X2 6000+ Gigabyte GA-M570SLI-S4 V2.0 (Bios Ver. FB 2x 2 gig Patriot Ram Foxxconn 9600GT x2 (SLI) Seagate 500gb 32mb Cache ThermalTake Armor Case (Black) Drivers Used: Nvidia Nforce 15.01 Nvidia Gforce 176.16 Beta What I have tried: Different Power Supply Tested the HDD in a different computer and installed Vista. Works Fine Tried Working Ram Changed CPUS Disconnected DVD Burner Tried Different Video Card So Basically the only things that remained the same is the Motherboard, fans and case. And I know the motherboard is compatible with the stuff because I tested it in a compuer with the same motherboard and cpu |

Re: Vista "LAG"
You didnt mention the wattage and brand of power supply.
Vid cards may be heating up, or cpu. Psu would cause this, as well as ram, or heat. You say you tried know good ram, was memtest run on it? You installed vista on the hdd in another machine, and then put it in your machine? That does not sound good, if so Im suprised it works at all, unless the board you used was a pretty close match to yours.

Problem System (New Parts from newegg.com w/ links):
Athlon x2 64 6000+ Gigabyte GA-M570SLi-S4 Patriot 2x2gig DDR 800 Samsung DVD Burner Thermaltake Armor Case 2x FoxxConn 9600gt 512mb PCI-e 2.0 SLi Seagate 500gb 32mb cache Logitech MX518 Saitek Keyboard SteelSeries Headset Sunbeam PSU Working system that parts were used from to test: Athlon x2 64 6000+ Gigabyte GA-M570SLi-S4 OCZ Reaper Pc6400 2x1gig 2x EVGA 8800gt SC 256mb SLi SteelSeries Headset Logitech MX518 Gigabyte 3D Mars Case Broadway 650W Logitech G15 More Information: 1. Vid Card below 60ēC 2. Cpu below 50ēC 3. Memtest was ran with two passes 4. I installed Vista on the Problem System. Had the Issue after I install SP1 and Nvidia Drivers. But Didn't have enough time before Sp1 and Drivers to see if it would occur or not 5. Computer is still being used just frustrating when trying to do something because it stop responding but the mouse can move. Does this every probably 3-5 minutes and lasts about 2 minutes. 6. Also I did try with each stick of ram individually. 7. And Each Video Card Individually |

Re: Vista "LAG"
With that psu, you have one 12v rail @24amps. And you are trying
to run two video cards. Imho, you dont have enough power. You may get away with a single agp card, in a low end p4 but not any of the systems your dealing with. Your stressing everything, and you will if you have not damage components.....

Re: Vista "LAG"
Please run msinfo32 - and save as a NFO file (very important).
START |run | type msinfo32 into the start search box | click on msinfo32 above - save as NFO file - you will see the default option to do so. Zip it up... and attach to your next post. Regards. . . jcgriff2 .
