There is one problem i have had since i used xp and aparently it is in vista too. I can't help but wonder what is causing it. I have been running vista for about a year now. i defragment the drive frequently, run antivirus checks, clean the registry, delete cookies and temporary files, run anti spyware, keep the hardive from being near full, and moniter programs running at bootup......but...it still slows down. once on xp it took about 10 minutes just to get into the desktop. vista seems to be the same. the more i use it, the slower it gets. i have a policy to reformat my primary partition once a year now to keep it fast. I wish there was some other way then full blown reformatting but even if there isn't I would like to know which files are causing the problem and why.
