Exclamation Vista SP1 installed wrong driver!

Hi
Is there any way I can manually install a driver for my hardware in Vista? I have just completed a clean install of Vista and updated to SP1. Now Vista is installing the wrong driver for my Pinnacle USB DVB TV Stick. I have downloaded the driver from Pinnacle and tried updating the driver from device manager but windows just tells me I have the most up to date driver? I uninstall the driver fom device manager but as soon as I plug the thing in again it installs the driver! Help. many thanks for any help you guys can give me.

Re: Vista SP1 installed wrong driver!

Go to the device manager and select update driver.
Then choose "Browse my computer for driver software"
Then "Let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer"
On the next page select "Have disk" and browse to the place where you downloaded the driver. Select it and select open, then OK. It should then show your device in the Model window and you should select next. It will then install the driver. Select close and you're done.

Thanks very much, it's shown in device manager as a USB camera but is working.
David.

Re: Vista SP1 installed wrong driver!

Your welcome! I'm glad it worked out. I've seen similar devices show up as cameras as well. I don't think it is a problem.
