I am trying to install Olympus Studio 2. It will not install because it says Olympus Viewer 1.4 is installed on the computer.I went to the control panel and removed it but that did not help. Does any one know how to remove it?
Many thanks Brian |

Re: Removing Olympus studio 1.4
zgrayman,
I'm going to assume you have Olympus Studio 1.4 installed on Windows Vista and get the unsupported operating system error when trying to unistall. If so... 1. Search for the OLYMPUS Studio entry within HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall within the registry. 2. Once you find it copy the part of the UninstallString value that looks like "C:\Program Files\InstallShield Installation Informatin\{GUID}\Setup.exe". It will be the part in quotes and the GUID will be a long string of numbers. 3. Create a new shortcut on your desktop and paste that path in as the target. 4. Open the properties for the new shortcut and change the Compatability mode to XP SP2. 5. Use the shortcut to launch the uninstall. Uninstall should launch without the unsupported operation system message. MinersC |

Re: Removing Olympus studio 1.4
zgrayman,
Left out one vital piece of information in the reply. When you edit the shortcut you must add, after the quote after setup, /uninstall, so the target will look like: "C:\Program Files\InstallShield Installation Informatin\{GUID}\Setup.exe" /uninstall Sorry for any confusion. MinersC |
