Power Scheme-Sleep Mode
Power Scheme-Sleep Mode
I use Vista on my Dell PC and have my power settings set to turn off my monitor in 15 minutes and my PC in 20 minutes (sleep mode). When my PC enters the Sleep mode, it only stays in that mode a short time, usually three or so minutes at the maximum, then it activates and my monitor turns on. Is this normal for this power option? I would expect my PC to stay in the Sleep mode for a longer period of time, at least some of the time. Jerry |

Re: Power Scheme-Sleep Mode
I assume this is a laptop...as a Desktop system should never have reason to hibernate (or sleep) since battery power is of no consequence. With a Desktop, if you ever intend to be away from your system for any length of time, you should log off and power it down. However, as with any system, the feature can still work and should work fine...just not necessary nor recommended for Desktops. That said, check your internet options settings. Make sure the option "Never dial a connection" is checked. Next, check your scheduled events to see what you have scheduled and at what intervals.
Post back and let us know what you found in your scheduled events and/or if the issue resolved itself. |
