I've just done a clean install on an Acer 7520 laptop with a Dell OEM version of Vista Ultimate, was previously running Vista Home Premium.
My sister has it installed on her Dell so I know it works but the problem I've got is it looks more like Vista Basic. I think alot of the drivers are missing. I've tried going to the Acer website but its not obvious which ones I need and some that I've downloaded dont solve the problem. I tried to download the graphics card driver directly from NVIDIA but that hasn't solved the problem either. When I go into the Device Manager I seem to be missing drivers for: Human Interface Devices Imagingin Devices Monitor PCMCIA Adaptors Also the buttons for bluetooth, email, web and the volume wheel do not work. Any advice greatly appreciated. My IT knowledge isn't brilliant so would appreciate advice in easy to understand language please! |

Re: Vista Ultimate features missing
Hello suecoo66
Welcome to TSF Make sure that you have the extra components enabled 1. Select Start, Control Panel and then Uninstall A Program 2. On the left hand side of the screen select Turn Windows Features On Or Off 3. Select as many features as you want, some may require a restart ![]() Regards Craig

Re: Vista Ultimate features missing
OEM versions of Vista are licensed for the computer on which they came. You cannot use your sister's Dell OEM ista Ultimate on your Acer laptop. The best thing to do now is to re-format and re-install Vista Home Premium onto your Acer laptop.
Good Luck to you. Regards. . . jcgriff2 .

Re: Vista Ultimate features missing
Thanks for your replies, unfortunately Acer do not provide a Vista Disc with their laptops so I can't reinstall Vista Home Premium.
I've had already tried turning on windows features in the programmes section but can't see anything that relates to the features I want to turn on. |
