vista completely gone caput
hello,
vista worked fine for several months, then a message saying: "permition to update Hkey something something" appeared, at first i ignored it then it wouldn't stop popping up, like 5 times a minute it would appear, when i decided to just click on it to see if it would go away the internet and my security center thing completely failed, apparently something to do with vista conflicting with the modem, any help? i cant fix it on my own. thanks for reading |

Re: vista completely gone caput
Do you know what the "something something" was. That would be a big help. Also, you said that it had something to do with your modem. Are you sure about that because your modem is another piece of hardware in a totally different box. Did you mean your NIC?
This would be a big help. Cheers!

Re: vista completely gone caput
i'm sorry i really can't remember, it was like Hkey registry update or something. i've tried looking up history of updates and stuff but it wasn't there.
oh yeah, when i rang up kaspersky when everything first went wrong, starting with the security, they said the update probably caused vista to be no longer compatible with the modem ??? , so its probably vista then? dont know if thats right or if they were just trying to fob me off.i asked my friend and he wrote down instructions to create a node in that registry thing but nothing happened. i'm completely stumped ![]() thank you so much for reading and replying ![]() |
