desk top problems
When I turned my computer on today, it was acting very strange. All of my desktop icons were gone except the recycle bin. I can't access anything that was on the desktop. I got this error message: /Desktop refers to a location that is unavailable. it could be on a hard drive on this comp, or on a network.
When I tried to access iTunes through the start button, I got this message: iTunes could not be opened. an unknown error occurred (-50). How do I get my icons back and what can I do to prevent this in the future? Thank you in advance! |

Re: desk top problems
Did you install any software recently. If yes try to uninstall that and check. You can even try system restore option and restore the system back to an earlier point when it was working fine. You can even try this link http://support.microsoft.com/kb/890830

Re: desk top problems
Hey cubbies08
Welcome to TSF It sounds like you have altered, moved or deleted one of your system folders located C:\Users\Username If one of the folders here are altered in any way it effects all of the folders in the user folder. This is mainly because they are all interlinked, unfortunatley performing a system restore doesn't work because it only effects your settings and not the folder. I have done this myself before and i dont know of anyway to rectify this apart from reinstalling the OS If any one else knows how to rectify it they are more then welcome to post the procedure Regards Craig
