Windows Vista Boots to a black screen

Hey guys,

I have a friend who installed some windows updates, restarted his computer, and then it boots to a black screen.

What we've tried so far:
  • Booting to the windows Vista CD and running the Repair option (3 times)
  • Booting to the cd and running Bootrec.exe options
  • and running /FIXMBR

Anything else you guys can think of?

Thanks,
Brandon

Completed both of them. The computer is still booting to a black screen.

Re: Windows Vista Boots to a black screen

Ok so new progress. We have installed Vista on a different hard drive. Got the compute rback up and running. We threw the other hard drive back into the system. Windows reports that the drive is healthy, however when we double click on the drive is says it is unaccessible. Any ideas??

Thanks again
