AVAST AV Problems with VISTA

Is anyone having problems with AVAST and Vista? I have installed AVAST Free on Vista. For about 24 hours everything was fine. Now, all kinds of problems are showing up. Is there a "free" anti virus program that is compatible with Vista? In researching this on the internet, they say AVAST 4.7.942 is compatible. I would like some input before I go through this mess again. Thanks ...

Re: AVAST AV Problems with VISTA

Thanks Craig. I am working on my sister's PC, and she is having all kinds of problems with it. I'm going to use the Avast uninstall tool to remove it and just start over. Glad to hear it works for you.

Re: AVAST AV Problems with VISTA

No problems

I am a fan of Avast as i have never had any issues with it, thankfully lol

I know OF some issues but i believe any issues were relating to firewall and third party softwares like Spyware doctor etc

Any issues were resolved in simply uninstalling other antivirus products

I myself use Lavasoft Ad-Aware (Mainly cause i beta test it yearly) and Avast and both seem to work together lol

If your still having issues after uninstalling Avast then it might be virus related as some virus's latch onto files and kick into action when the security drops

Regards

Craig

Re: AVAST AV Problems with VISTA

I am another fan of Avast and have it running on two Vista computers without any problems.
One is a 32bit system and the other is a 64bit system
