BSOD: unmountable_boot_volume --- There's something wrong with my HDD
Ok, As far as you can see this is another unmountable_boot_volume BSOD case and first of all, here's my story:
My pc is a 5 month old Sony Vaio VGN-FZ21Z, which due to overheating (due to lack of ventilation) I was forced to shutdown by cutting off it's power (10 sec, power key). When I tried to boot i got that lovely BS with the above error message. I've dealt with that BSOD before but never in vista, and I'd appreciate any help since: Formating is out of question The recovery disk is in the hidden recovery partition within the HDD *****I NEED MY FILES***** XP installation disk can't start the command line The only thing that keeps me wondering whether I got any chance to save my files is the fact that when I attempt to boot windows when selecting "Recover system" (Or something similar to that) I get a black screen and the mouse pointer. Any suggestions??? I seriously need help guys!!!!!!! BTW, I got a 300gb HDD... Last edited by Cr45h_F4c70r : 06-01-2008 at 04:20 PM. |

Re: BSOD: unmountable_boot_volume --- There's something wrong with my HDD
Ok, today I managed to access my files using Knoppix. They were all intact.
I'm still trying to figure out how to fix the boot failure, as windows recovery does not seem to work. |
