Exclamation hardware troubl

I just purchased my grandpa an HP a6432f. He has an old FPD 1500 gateway monitor that I am attempting to use with this tower.

The onboard video uses VGA output, yet the cord outputs in DVI

I solved that issue by purchasing a DVI to VGA adapter.

His monitor worked perfectly with his old copmuter(windows 98), and i tested the monitor (but not with the adapter) on my computer (windows xp).

BUT the monitor will not work with the adapter on the new tower and the OS on the new tower is vista. I have located the 'drivers' for the old monitor, yet i am unable to install them because they aren't files that i can just 'run'.

the three files in the 'driver' folder for the FPD1500 are:

fpd1500.cat
fpd1500.icm
fpd1500.inf

Any suggestions on how to install these drivers? are these files drivers?

PLEASE ALL THE HELP THE BETTER. THANKS ALL

Re: hardware troubl

Right click on the INF file and click install. That should do it, you might have to go into your display properties to selet the new driver, and if that doesn't work, try contacting either HP or Gateway.
