VPN connecntion and blue screen.

Hello everybody,

Whenever I try to establish the office VPN connection , I receive a blue screen and the system shutdown abruptly.

I'm using Vista SP1 . I also tried to disable Kaspersky internet security and test the VPN connection but the problem still persists.

below is the problem details generated by Windows Vista.

Any ideas/workarounds???

Thanks in advance.

Re: VPN connecntion and blue screen.

I have similar issue with my Vista64. I posted my issue on Microsoft forums and the only respond I got was to call Microsoft.

Re: VPN connecntion and blue screen.

Zip the contents of c:\windows\minidumps and post it. I'd be inclined to say you need to talk to the office about an update to your VPN client though.

Re: VPN connecntion and blue screen.

I found the solution to my issue after further searched on AFD.SYS. I reseted TCP/IP stack to its original state and it worked.

Apparently during the time I tested a few of Anti Virus softwares for my Vista 64 last year, those softwares changed the following registry entry

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\Tcpip\Parameters\

I ran the following command to reset TCP/IP stack

netsh int ip reset

BTW, I have to use Vista VPN because Cisco VPN Client does not support Vista 64. Unfortunately for my case, the other 2 PC in my house are upgraded Vista which Cisco VPN Client also does not support.
