COD4 Unable to begin install
Hi,
I've just upgraded to 64 bit vista and re-downloaded COD4 from Direct2Drive. I extracted the folders and tried to run setup. Every time I try, I get the following error: "not enough storage is available to process this command" "Installation did not complete" I've tried all the varieties of setup available and tried running it from different locations. I've got 300 gigs free on the HD and 4 Gigs of RAM, I have no idea what might be wrong. Things I've tried: Running the setup in Compatability mode for XP. Running the program as an Admin. Relocating the folder to a different location. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks. |

Re: COD4 Unable to begin install
I've got just under 300 gigs of space. I've checked the D2D site and tried anything they recommended, but nothing changed the error I got.
I've submitted an IT ticket to them as well, but they don't seem eager to respond to it. /prays for Warlord's mom |

Re: COD4 Unable to begin install
Hey Dont Panic
Nice name ![]() This can be caused by the server service running out of process memory, by a process on your system consuming memory handles and not releasing them properly 1. You can modify the IRPStackSize parameter in the registry to increase the memory size made available to new applications. Key: HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\lanmanserver\parameters Value: IRPStackSize Type: REG_DWORD Data: 15 (can set as high as 50) Regards Craig Last edited by Placehold : 05-16-2008 at 03:25 PM. |

Re: COD4 Unable to begin install
Thanks for the help, this has been solved!
The problem was fixed by re-downloading the file (argh, 9 hours) and extracting with 7-zip instead of the default Vista extractor. D2D stated that only WINZIP is certified to cause no issue, but it was $30 so I decided to use trusty ol' 7-zip instead. Worked like a charm. Thanks again for all the assistance. |
