Volume/Unknown Device issue
Hello,
For a long time now I've had several odd issues with my Vista install. Firstly, I cannot turn the volume all the way down on my inspiron 9300 since installing vista...specifically, I will set the volume to 0 and there will still be whatever is playing coming out of the speakers at a noticeable level. I've tried checking for the newest sound drivers and whatnot to no avail. My second issue is that since my installation of Vista (a clean install), I have always had one device in the device manager that is known as an "Unknown Device" under a "Other devices" tab. I have no clue what to do about that either. Help would be appreciated. |

Re: Volume/Unknown Device issue
Hi there
1... lets found out what the unknow device is and see if we can get installed on this i want u to gto the device manager again and post what the device status is under that ( there should be a code there such as code 10 or something ) 2... then we will fix the sound issue on that i want u to post the dxdiag file start ( type in start search ) dxdiag save all info what were the issue u were haveing before the clean install of vista . and which vista is it did u by any chance install vista on this computer if so we will have to find the drivers another way as that the ones on dells site are for XP and dont list drivers for vista we will have to find out what the unknow device is first then update the video / sound card drivers regards warlordfmike p.s... pray for my mom
