Memory leakage
Hi,
I have Lenovo R61i Laptop which runs windows Vista. I have abt 102 GB of memory in C drive, of which only 48GB is in use. But when i see the memory occupancy of C drive in 'My Computer', it shows about 95GB. I used a tool 'windirstat' which shows where the drive space is used. The tool showed abt 50 GB of unknown memory. Please tell me how to retrieve this memory. Thanks Pranav |

Re: Memory leakage
Hi..thanks for the reply. I already found the solution.
This unknown memory was being used by the backup files. I learnt this from the WinDirStat 's website. I used the ThinkVantage -Rescue and recovery to delete old backup.I retrieved thelost memory. Thanks again. Pranav |

Re: Memory leakage
You can however delete all the old backups safely only leaving the latest two by using disk cleanup within the OS itself
1. Start\Computer 2. Right click C: and select properties 3. select Disk Cleanup 4. Select More options You can now safely delete old backups and shadow copies Regards Craig |
