Need Email Help, PLEASE!!!

Hi, I have no idea if this is the right place to place this thread, but I need some help! I deleted a yahoo account last August, thought I had backed up the necesary emails, come to find out later that I had not

but figured that there was nothing that I could do at that point. Now, someone has mentioned to me that there is a way to retrieve emails/files or even IM logs from my lap top or PC. Is this true???

did you download your yahoo emails to your email client? or did you keep them online?

On line apparently, long story. They were supposed to be backed up onto disc which I found out later was blank. These emails were originally saved in a file in my yahoo account before it was deleted. Is there anyway to retrieve this info from the laptop at this late date???
