sleep mode?

So it seems if I step away from my computer for too long it goes into some mode Im guessing it is the sleep mode which would be ok but it also disconnects me from the internet... but there are times even though Im away I want to stay logged in... how do I stop the sleep mode or the disconnecting?

Thanks!!

Re: sleep mode?

Hello, Welcome to TSF.

It can be disabled through your power options, which I think can be accessed via the control panel.

If you need more precise instructions, please post back.

Re: sleep mode?

Hey Chalicedkitty

Control Panel\Hardware and Sound\Power Options\Edit Plan Settings

Here you can edit how long before your system goes to sleep but if you select Change Advanced Power Settings you can select what exactly is does when it goes a while without being used

Regards

Craig

Re: sleep mode?

I have completely turned off my sleep option because I can't get the darn thing to wake up again. Any ideas?

Re: sleep mode?

If it won't wake up, how did you turn off sleep mode?

Re: sleep mode?

I tried everything I knew. I ended up having to hold down the power button and shut off the laptop. Not good to do, I know.

Re: sleep mode?

I know this isn't a solution to your problem, but try hibernating?
