Quattro Pro 11, some formulas disappear [moved from ram and psu]
Have a new computer, with 2g RAM, Vista Home, but when I used my spreadsheet program, Quattro Pro 11, some of the formulas go missing. It was recommended by the experts on QP11, that this could be a RAM problem. I contacted the manufacturer of the computer, who helped me through testing the RAM with the Windows Memory Diagnostics Tool, and it came back okay.
It was suggested then that Memtest is more comprehensive and might find errors that Windows MDT will not. I have downloaded Memtest, burned it to a CD bootable disk, changed the settings to boot from CD first, but it will not boot from the CD, bypassing the CD to start in Vista. Vista is taking over. Does anybody know what I might be doing wrong. Maybe I don't have memtest installed correctly? Maybe there is a way to stop Vista from taking over? Any help would be appreciated. Jeff |

Re: Testing RAM with Memtest
Yes. It is on the CD as memtest.iso. Was that they correct thing to do? This is the first burn I did on the new computer, and all I did was unzip and drag it to the CD drive with a new CD in it.
As I said, if that was the right thing to do, I can not get the memtest.iso to boot or run at all, even though the default for the computer is to check the CD first when it reboots. Vista problem? Thanks, Jeff |

Re: Testing RAM with Memtest
I probably said that wrong. I didn't unzip the iso file. I unzipped the zip file that created the iso file. The memtest.iso file was sitting by itself in an unzipped folder on the hard drive. I dragged the memtest.iso file to the CD drive and burned it.
Shouldn't that have created the right file to reboot from? But it still won't do it. As I said, it's like VISTA just tales over from the boot drive before it give memtest.iso a chance to run. Jeff |

Re: Testing RAM with Memtest
dai
I did what you said and downloaded the version you stated, and it worked. You had mentioned before about doing one stick at a time; I didn't know how to do that (if I should do that, let me know how to go about it), so I just let it run through the whole test. The RAM came back okay. I must have downloaded or burned it wrong before, think it was v3. Thanks, Jeff |

Re: Quattro Pro 11, some formulas disappear [moved from ram and psu]
Thanks for moving me over here. Things seem to be going okay right now with the program after testing the RAM and running a repair function on the program. Hopefully that will continue. Thanks for all your help.
