Vista Anytime Upgrade w/ 64bit
WARNING!
Microsoft does not support the Anytime Upgrade option on Vista 64bit OS. The Anytime Update feature is still present in the OS, however when you go thru the steps: 1. You will get thru to the Update website, and will be able to pay for a Vista Update disk (Home to Business, Home to Ultimate, etc) with your credit card. 2. A disk will be shipped to you, but alas, it WILL be a 32bit version. 3. At no time durring the Anytime Upgrade option, including a system scan, will you be presented with an option to select a 64bit version. 4. When you realize this when attempting the install, there is a link given in a flyer in the package that gives you the option to visit http://www.windowsvista.com/1033/ordermedia . 5. Navigating to the given site, and entering your CD Key and personal info will fail. You will have to call Microsoft, be transfered to the Shipping Department, give your key, and wait another 5 business days for a 64bit disk. To date, there is no Upgrade disk for 64bit versions of Vista available. CLEAN installs from Vista Home Premium to any other version seem to be the only answer I've found thus far.
