EEK! Vista vs Adobe Reader 8 - ARRRGH!

I just bought a Dell Inspiron and unfortunately I needed Vista Home Premium for work. It's driving me crazy. I'm up against a deadline and cannot open any of my PDF files. I have tried downloading and then uninstalling Adobe Reader 8.1.2 three times. I even went back to Reader 7 in an attempt to get these files to open. With Reader 8.1.2 I get a message that is labeled Acrobat plug-in and the message says Can Not launch Acrobat. Can anyone help me with this problem??? I'm losing way too much working time to this and I'm beginning to despair I will be able to get my project done on time!

Re: Vista vs Adobe Reader 8 - ARRRGH!

Vista sometimes needs you to "elevate privelages" simple try this first, right click on Adobe's icon where you would clcik to launch it, and choose "run as administrator".

Alternatively, in the mean time so you can get your work done use this free pdf reader:

Foxit Reader:

Any problems with it, remember the "run as administrator" maybe needed.

Note also Foxit do a Foxit Editor:
