There are MANY possible causes for this behavior so it would be wrong for me to even guess what might be going wrong without more information from you. Please reply with the Make/Model of your PC?; Desktop or Laptop?, Running on AC or battery? Version of Windows you're running (XP Home, XP Pro, Vista, etc.)? How old is the PC? What external devices are connected to your PC (drives, printers, scanners, modems, network devices, etc). Do you have any anti-virus or firewall software installed? If so, what make/version? When did this problem first occur and what, if anything did you install, update or reconfigure on your PC prior to the first time this problem started? - John

can u write down the error and post and if u can get to the desktop post the minidump files start\computer\C:\windows\logs post the dxdiag file start ( type in start search ) dxdiag save all info have u installed any new hardware or software what type of video card do u have and how many watts is ur power supply regards warlordfmike
