Pin "Date and Time" synchronization problem

I've got a problem with the automatic synchronization of my "Date and Time". Every hour my tray clock loses couple of minutes and doesn't want to synchronize automaticly with the server. I think the CMOS batery is OK, because when I check, the system time is always the same as the clock time . It is interesting that I experience this problem only with my laptop. I've got the same Vista installed on my PC and have not such problem. Please help to synchronize automaticly my "Date and Time" clock!!!

Re: "Date and Time" synchronization problem

danaildelev & bobtheoutlaw,

The most likely cause is that you have firewall software installed and enabled which is blocking TCP Port 123 "Network Time Protocol". You need to open up this port on your firewall and your PC will be able to connect to a time server.

I would recommend using "time-a.timefreq.bldrdoc.gov" which is the military Atomic clock in Boulder Colorado.

Re: "Date and Time" synchronization problem

John, unfortunately your suggestion is not the case here. I did allow the TCP Port 123 to connect with the internet server time-a.timefreq.bldrdoc.gov through the firewall, but the result is still the same-the clock is still loosing time(around 2 min per hour). It does so even with the firewall disabled. If you can suggest anything else i will embrace your idea.

Bravo John,
First pls accept my appology for jumping to a wrong conclusion. Your suggestion worked out perfectly and I was not right(I just didn't do it in the proper way at the first try). Oppening the TCP Port 123 "Network Time Protocol" in the firewall program as you suggested is the right solution for this problem. Many many thanks to you and pls accept one more time my appology.
