Major BSOD issues

Hi guys, I had my computer built about 2 months ago and ever since ive had it ive been getting frequent BSOD's. Originally it had xp and got BSOD alot now I have vista ultimate and its still occuring. Infact in the last 30 minutes its done it 3 times but these times varies. If I leave the pc on sometimes its only 2 a day but mostly its more frequent than that. I have formated a few times but this doesnt fix it. even after a clean format it would still bsod when minimal apps were installed again. Also my sound is really bad and clicks and cracks when listening to itunes playing games or watching movies and my wireless keybored and mouse keep cutting in and out which is incredibly frustrating. the keybored and mouse are fine on another pc but not on mine. Also lately my computer has been running really slow if that helps

I have uploaded some mini dumps

here are my specs

GPU: EVGA 9800gx2

Re: Major BSOD issues

Welcome to TSF.

What is the model and wattage of your power supply? Have you run a memory check on each stick of memory separately? The fact that the BSOD's occur with both XP and Vista leads me to believe it is hardware related and I would suspect the power supply first.

Re: Major BSOD issues

OK sure, my power supply is thermaltake tough power 850w and yes I have ran memory diagnostics on both of my sticks. I have also tried to run the pc on each stick to see if one was causing the issue. But the diagnostic found no errors after 10hrs of running and running on each stick does not stop the BSOD's

thanks

Re: Major BSOD issues

Well it looks like you've covered all the bases. Other than Video card drivers, nothing else comes to mind. I'll look around some more.

Re: Major BSOD issues

Well I doubt its the video card i just changed and it did it previously. I was suspecting the motherboard because sometimes when i hit the reset button or choose reset in windows it doesnt reset. it just sits there almost like the computer is off but all the fans are going including the gpu fan and cpu like the motherboard is turned off

Re: Major BSOD issues

cpu voltage is 1.15 and ram is 1.8. is there any other voltages that you need? Could it possibly be the motherbored? cause the sound is a small pci card that came with it and the wireless keybored and mouse are usb

Hi Everyone. . .

@ Nichtsicher - Good Morning....

An understatement, perhaps .?.. I did pick up the 86 memory dumps in the zip file. !! Are there really more? If so - send them over. The reason is that based on your initial post, Microsoft drivers are showing up as the probable cause simply because they were in the memory offset vicinity of the actual cause that wishes to remain anonymous at this time. Those pointing at MS are of no use after initially processing them.

Since the dumps are void (thus far) of hardware errors, I expect that we will find a 3rd party driver to be the culprit here. But we'll know soon enough, hopefully within a few days. The more dumps the better as the ones pointing at MS are of no use after initially processing them.

A few items for me, please -

Belarc Advisor report in mht, html, or word format
• DxDiag report - dxdiag.exe from an elevated prompt
• Event Viewer logs - all 54 of them - c:\windows\system32\winevt\logs\*.evtx
• DSS logs - main.txt and extra.txt
HJT log (runs under and included in dss)

I'll send you a PM with my email address.

Regards. . .

jcgriff2

Hi. . .

As you know.. these were posted elsewhere, so now.. here they are:

Look in Control Panel - Uninstall Programs - uninstall anything related to Deamon Tools. I don't see any in the list I have, but it is starting at boot-up.

EDIT:
Go into MSCONFIG and andcheck any boxes in start-up for daemon tools

So far, well into over 1/2 of the >100 memory dumps, I see no evidence of hardware failure in the dump files. I do see quite a few system-resource-hungry installed like Apple, Office 2007, Adobe CS-3, Nero 8, etc... which is fine - your system w/ Core 2 proc /4GB RAM should handle this without much issue.

What I am finding in the memory dumps are various 3rd party drivers failing - some of which belong to at least two different anti-virus packages that are not found in your installed program list. It is my belief that they are literally at war with each other. If this is the case, SAFEMODE should then give your system the breathing room it needs to stay afloat without crashing continuously, which will in turn allow you the chance to go in and get rid of them.

There are other potential conflicts, but let's do the following first:
• Boot into SAFEMODE w/Networking - and please stay here
• Download and install CCleaner. After installation, right-click on the desktop shortcut; right-click; select "Run as Administrator"; select Tools (scene-left side) and a list of installed programs should appear. Then start installing any of the following that you see:
• Safer Networking Limited - SpyBot-S&D
• GriSoft/ AVG
• Symantec/ Norton
• Kaspersky
• Download MS SysInternals Autoruns v9.13 to your desktop. Double-click desktop icon to unzip, then left-click 2x on the autoruns.exe icon. This may be needed in the next step.

Please let me know what exactly you find/uninstall and of the outcome. Does the system run much faster under SAFEMODE?

Any ?? - let me know.

Regards. . .

Re: Major BSOD issues

I just noticed on another report that you have ESET Nod32 running.. are all of the other anti-virus programs uninstalled?

You are in SAFEMODE w/Networking now? Was there any overall system performance increase besides the wireless keyboard/mouse working better?
