Downgrading To XP
My grandmother purchased a Compaq Presario 6719 Laptop with Vista pre-installed. I wish she had told me before she bought it. I would have advised against it. Too complicated for her. Anyways, the vendor she purchased from was offsite tech and so now will not refund her money. What I want to do is downgrade it to XP. Contacted Microsoft but was told had to go to Mfg. Who is HP/Compaq. They told me no go cause its pre-loaded with Vista Premium and no Recovery Cd's avaliable to revert to XP. And the person I spoke with at HP/Compaq said I couldn't do it anyway...no drivers available. Well thats a bunch of hogwash! I found every single driver that will work with XP except the Video...took me a few days...my question or request is...Has anyone here downgraded this particular model and do you have the video driver for it? Or does anyone know where I can get a driver that will work with this particular model? Would greatly appreciate any help..as I am trying to help granny not lose her money from something she can't use. Thanks...
