Repeated BSOD crashes, seemingly random

Hi, I've just joined this place after hearing such good reports and I've been tearing my hair out over this, so I hope someone here can point me in the right direction.

I have a new PC running Vista 64 and I'm getting BSOD crashes on a daily basis, sometimes 4 or 5 times a day. The error messages are different every time - I've had SYSTEM_SERVICE_EXCEPTION, DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL, PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA, plus a load of .sys file errors.

I've read up on this a lot before posting here and have tried various things, with no luck.

I've checked for viruses and spyware - all clear.
I've dismantled the HW and refitted it (RAM, gfx card etc.)
I've run the Win memory test utility.
I've run Memtest86.
I ran Sea Tools on both Seagate HDs.

All these tests were clear.

I have no idea how to post a dump or anything, so if that's the next step, please let me know how to go about it.

I don't really have the option to return the PC to the shop, as it's over 100 miles away and I need the comp every day for work.
It's driving me crazy!!

Looking forward to an answer - cheers!

Steve

Re: Repeated BSOD crashes, seemingly random

Hi m8, I have tons of minidump files, way too many to upload, so here are the last 5 or so - is that okay?

Doesnt matter what I'm doing - sometimes I'm browsing, sometimes watching a movie or writing an email...it often happens when I'm AFK and not doing anything.

Here's the dxdiag:

Re: Repeated BSOD crashes, seemingly random

Can\t see what brand it is without taking it out but it's an ATX 450 JSP, new.
No dust in the case and it shouldn't be overheating...

Re: Repeated BSOD crashes, seemingly random

Hey Stevacek

The most common reason for things like this happening is like dai has suggested Power supply, Video drivers(Update them to latest drivers) , people disabling Virtualisation and faulty RAMs However updating the bios from the manufacturers website should rectify the problem ,check them all out to be on the safe side

regards

Craig

Re: Repeated BSOD crashes, seemingly random

put a decent power supply in it the ezycool is low quailty you would expect to find something like this in it
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16817139001
pcie requires a min output of 26 amps on the 12v+ line[s]

Re: Repeated BSOD crashes, seemingly random

Craig: I've just downloaded the latest gfx card drivers so I'll see if it makes any difference. I haven't touched the Virtualisation and I've tested the RAM - that's all OK.
I don't know where to get the latest BIOS but I'll try to find out.
Cheers for the advice.

Dai: You may be right about the power supply, but obviously I'll do that as a last resort - it's not a cheap piece of kit to upgrade.

Thanks to both of ya, had no crashes in the last 2 hours so I'll keep u posted

Re: Repeated BSOD crashes, seemingly random

Guys I need a bit more help here, as I have no idea how to go about updating my BIOS. I did a scan at esupport.com and the result said I had 3 drivers out of 35 that were out of date, one of which was my soundcard.

But then it says it's gonna cost me $30 to upgrade. It must be possible to download the latest version for free, but I have no idea where.

This is the report I got:

Computer name: STEVE-PC
Your Ticket #: 13XWJZR
BIOS Type: AMI
BIOS Date: August 15th 2007

Re: Repeated BSOD crashes, seemingly random

you will need to look at the manual for the upgrade proceedure for the bios
the golden rule on updating the bios is
only if it offers something you need, don't upgrade for the sake of it
what drivers do you need

Re: Repeated BSOD crashes, seemingly random

Yeh, I really don't want to upgrade it unless I really have to.

The drivers I need are:

- HID Keyboard Device

- Realtek RTL8168/8111 Family PCI-E Gigabit Ethernet NIC (NDIS 6.0)

- Realtek High Definition Audio

Do you think any of these could be responsible for my BSOD probs?
