Problem with Internet Time in Windows Vista
I am having an odd issue, not that important, but because of my personality it really bugs me. When I try to update the internet time in windows vista it displays something like "there was an error syncing blah blah blah." I searched this error on google and so far I have found that this usually happens when the time servers are down. However, I find it hard to believe that EVERY SINGLE TIME SERVER I try is down (oh yes, I've tried all the addresses windows includes along with others), especially when just a second before I try to update on this computer I successfully do it from the same network on a different computer. Thanks for the help!!!

Re: Problem with Internet Time in Windows Vista
Hello schnook
Welcome to TSF Did you disable the Windows Time service? 1. Type "services.msc" in run, 2. scroll to windows time and check the status. 3. If this service is disabled, the error message should say the RPC server is unavailable.Re-enable ![]() Failing that you could Sync Clock from Command Line 1. command prompt (right-click, Run as administrator) 2. type w32tm /resync Now your clock is sync'd. If you want proof, you could check the time settings panel again. ![]() Regards Craig

Re: Problem with Internet Time in Windows Vista
Thanks for the reply Craig!! I solved the problem. After checking the event viewer I noticed that it said something like "windows time cannot synchronize for more than 617000 seconds" and since my time was set to 2005, this was probably why. I set it to a time close to the actual time and it then worked.
