Is Vista good?

I was talking to my mother a few minutes ago during dinner. We need to get a enw computer, a second one, actually. I said that we should get Vista. She thought otherwise.

She heard from many people that it wasn't what is said to be, and there was many other issues. And i wanted to know what you thought, and what issues there are. Either way, im pretty sure she wont buy one with Vista.

Re: Is Vista good?

Vista can be extremely troublesome for some users...but for others it runs perfectly. It all depends on usage and hardware. It does take a little time to get used to how it works and to benefit from what it can do but i've had no significant problems with it at all and although I run dual boot, I rarely boot into XP unless i'm testing software or troubleshooting minor issues on Vista.

Re: Is Vista good?

Hey all,

Just drop in to add....

I found the switch to Vista about the same as coming from Win95/98 to XP. Tools and info is more complicated to find, User Account Control is annoying for single User. Some of my favorite tools/utilities and burners wont run of course, just to P you off.

Sofar so good, and I only have Vista Basic. + updates. No Sp1.
I'm not into Games and it works OK for now, with Pics and Music and Office & Internet
Ya sorta have to go with the trend.
NT.
