Folder stuck on the desktop
Hey, This could be a really simple problem to solve and maybe I'm being dumb about this. This there's a folder stuck on my desktop, I cant remove it at all, I can put things in it and that's it. When trying to delete it, it just 'refreshes' the folder. It has no name, just a blank character, I cant rename the folder either. It just leaves it as blank no matter what I type.
I have no idea how to remove it? Attached screenshot. Any help would be appreciated :) Thanks |

Re: Folder stuck on the desktop
Thanks for the quick reply!
I installed the unlocker, Rebooted the pc, and right clicked the folder, I had no option in the menu though, I ticked the option to include the menu though? |

Re: Folder stuck on the desktop
It should come up saying Unlocker in the right click menu, Once you click the Unlocker option a window opens with option, normally i select delete then it either deletes the object or tells me to restart and it deletes it at that point

Re: Folder stuck on the desktop
Right click on the folder and run as administartor
or open command prompt as admin and type net user administrator /active:yes Reboot and access the new administrators account and see if you can gain access to those folder or Once you have your elevated command prompt, follow these steps: For our example, we are going to use the Bubbles screensaver file (Bubbles.scr) 1. At the command prompt, input takeown /f filepath (takeown /f c:\windows\system32\Bubbles.scr). 2. Press Enter on the keyboard. 3. A message will be displayed that this completed successfully. 4. Now input icacls filepath /grant yourusername:f (icacls c:\windows\system32\Bubbles.scr /grant shamanstears:f). 5. A message will be displayed that this completed successfully. You will now be able to modify or replace the file. When you are done, simply remove the permissions to keep the file secure. Or to delete it completely using CMD 1. Open a Command Prompt 2. use the Remove Directory (or rmdir or just rd) command. 3. rd \filename /s If all else fails install Take Ownership ![]() After you install it Right click the folder and select Take ownership and you should be able to access the folder If you want to get rid of this function run the Uninstaller Craig |
