[SOLVED] vista not recognizing my internal & external cd/dvd rom drives

Using OS Windows Vista Home Premium, I have a Dell Inspiron MXC061 laptop, with a Intel Core Duo CPU, and a 32-bit Operating System. Everything was working fine one minute. Then i shut down and left for a couple hours later when i returned my CD/DVD rom drives are not working my internal drive is HL-DT-ST DVD+-RW GSA-T11N ATA under device manager this internal drive still appears but has an exclamation point in the picture but it cannot be seen under Windows Manager or anywhere else on the pc. Now my external drive Liteon 16x External DVD+-rwDrive can no longer be seen under the device manager /CD/DVD ROM Drives or under Windows Manager or anywhere else on my pc either. Can someone help me figure out what the heck is goin on and explain in detail on how in the world i can fix this???? Thank you to whoever reads this!

that did not work for me even when oi tried to import it. It says Registry Editor "Cannot import c:\Users\summer\Desktop\filename.reg: The key selected is invalid.

Where should i go form this point? The fix didn't work.

Re: vista not recognizing my internal & external cd/dvd rom drives

Removing the filters is enough. So - you don't have to do anything more.
Glad you got it fixed.
