[SOLVED] How to Recover Disk Drive?

I have a new Toshiba Laptop - running on Windows Home Vista Premium. Appears I have lost the disk drive - pop in CDs and DVDs, etc. and nothing. When looking at the properties of the drive, it refers to "Code 10" and sez It's Not Working Properly. It recommends to check for solutions and when I do, it doesn't do a thing.

The device is Pioneer DVD-RW DVR-K17LF ATA Device. How can I fix this problem?

Hope you can help!

Re: How to Recover Disk Drive?

Thanks - I think it's working - time will tell. Is this a common problem - any comments?

Cool Re: How to Recover Disk Drive?

According to the tech's at the Toshiba Service Center,
Vista is trashing hard drives.
I've not heard of any problems with the CD/DVD drives, but hey, anything is possible.

Call Toshiba if you don't get it going.

They will replace the drive under warranty.

Good Luck,
The Shadow
