Locked file delete

I have installed a game on vista that i have installed on xp and the vista version didn't install right so I have tried to delete it but it says file not found or missing. So i have tried to reinstall it and it will not auto install it says bad block. Is there anyway to delete it totally off? I have tried to use windows uninstall and same message appears. I tried to delete the folder and all contains and still will not reinstall. Please help! Thanxs

Re: Locked file delete

For this type of issue i would use unlocker, It is designed to delete such files off the system at the time or on next reboot

Vista friendly

Once installed right click on the folder and select unlocker, then select delete!

Unlocker:Download here

Re: Locked file delete

Did you reboot your pc after deleting the registry keys? If not i would try that again as it wont recognise that the files are gone and will be causing explorer to hang

Re: Locked file delete

Insert the CD,and explore the disc and look for the Setup.exe file
Double click it and hopefully it should start to install the software
Does your PC meet the requirements to install and run the software?

Re: Locked file delete

I have tried to explore the cd and it causes the windows explore to freeze. I wait and wait for anything to happen and a window appears and says "windows explore has stopped suddenly and needs to restart" and my options are restart or cancel. And to the requirements yeah I have more than what they ask for. So idk i have checked the cd drives drives and they r up to date.

Re: Locked file delete

Here's a wee quick question

Have you checked the MD5 checksum?
Maybe its the system tray,
If the files were altered from the first attempted download then the files could possibly be bad

Let me know how you get on with that

Re: Locked file delete

Not to sound stupid but where is the MD5 checksum? I have looked at the task manager and didn't see any sign of the program. I also searched my entire computer and found nothing. I also tried to copy the entire cd and it ran really slow then an error popped up saying that file DX81NTeng is for an older version of windows but the cd manufacturer says it will work for vista. I believe that file is DirectX and I have already have the latest version of it. So I dont know what to do.

Re: Locked file delete

The check some is a program that checks the integrity of the Files either on the hardrive or burned to CD/DVD

You can find more information and a free download here

My thoughts are on this one that maybe its too upto date,The error shows that its for an older version,Alot of people are being updated to Vista SP1 thru automatic updates so the newest software might be causin the issues

Might be an idea to uninstall direct x and install an older version to see if its something as simple as that

Uninstaller
