Windows Vista Media Player issue
I recently purchased a Dell XPS with Windows Vista. Of recent, I've had issues opening Windows Media Player. I get the error message stating that it "failed to open because it's side-by-side configuration is incorrect" and to "check the application event log" for details. I did some searching and I keep finding corrupted files messages and to run "chkdsk." Is the only way to fix this to re-install Vista since the media player is part of the operating system? Anyone have an answer or sme tips that would be greatly appreciated.

Re: Windows Vista Media Player issue
Try downloading Windows media player 11,when you try to install it you should be able to repair or replace, try repairing Windows media player, restart your whole computer and see if the error is still there
If it is then you can trying reinstalling a new version of WMP replacing the old files or try restoring back to a previous date or rather the date you first turned it on if you can lol Good luck |
