Vista/Belkin Problem
Hi all,
I have a feeling this may not be a new problem so hopefully someone will have a quick-and-easy solution. I hope so because I am close to throwing my nice new Sony Vaio out the window ... Until very recently buying the new laptop I had been running Windows XP. There had been a problem with the old machine and the Belkin wireless router (model no. FSD7633-4) accessing certain websites such as Hotmail and receiving email with MS Outlook. This problem was solved by downloading DrTCP and resetting the MTU level to 1400. (Incidentally, if any of the foregoing suggests that I know what I am talking about - please accept my assurances that I don't. I am a computer ignoramus.) The new Sony Vaio has Vista pre-installed. Although I have a seemingly normal interconnect connection and can access the majority of websites there are some such as, again, Hotmail which I cannot access. And I cannot receive email via Outlook. From what I have read, the DrTCP program does not seem to work with Vista although I have tried this. Can anyone help me? Thanks in advance and if you need more info just let me know. John |
