Hi the Joe. . . I advise strongly that you not install Vista RC SP1 at this time - it is still in the testing phase - a beta version. Microsoft advises that SP1 only run on a second or test system or in a virtual (memory) environment as it may crash your system. It crashed one of my systems in December. Wait until the production version is released and allow Windows Updates to install it in your system. The numbers X-64 refers to a 64-bit system, while X-86 refers to the 32-bit system so named for Intel's X-86 processor architecture. Regards. . . jcgriff2

Re: Tech Net SP1 for vista
Thank you I just read a fist full of forums on it and you seem to be absolutly correct.I will be patient and let microsoft update do its thing like I always have. I am not really impressed with the speed of my OS compared to xp but I do like vista. Hey what is this crap about the software not being encripted? does that mean I am more vulnerable to hacks and backdoor lovers
