Vista Sidebar gadget error
I try to copy some NEW gadgets into the directory of the "Windows Sidebar/Gadget"
The copied gadgets includes some that have already installed when Windows is set up(Slideshow, Clock...) Windows asked me if i want to replace the file by the new one. But it warn me that the file need a administrator permission and refuse to replace it. But when i finish my copy. The ORIginal gadget of the Sidebar have some problem that they can not normally show. They just become some back and white area with nothing on it. I try to go to the safety mode to delete the ORIginal gadget and replace it by the new one. But it warn me again that the file need a administrator permission. The attachment show the sidebar I add the Clock, Slideshow, Puzzle....and they all can not work Last edited by Geekgirl : 03-01-2008 at 06:40 AM. Reason: Removed url/offensive |

Re: Vista Sidebar gadget error
It seems as though by trying to add the new ones, it partially wrote over the existing ones, causing everything to quit working. I would try seeing if you can add a separate gadget and maybe it'll work for you. When you try and copy new ones, just go w/ whatever UAC is asking and it'll work properly.
