Networking with vista

I have a local lan setup at home my PC is a Copy of 64-bit Vista Home Premium. What I'd like to do now is to plug my new printer via a second ethernet connection into my pc and then have my printer pull an ip address from my router and then be routable from any computer on the network. I just have to get vista to create a switch between its self and the printer. Is this ethernet bridging, all the articles refer to sharing an internet connections, which I don't think is quite what I want to do. Thanks for the help.

Re: Networking with vista

Why not just connect the printer directly to the router if it is network capable. What type printer is it?

Re: Networking with vista

Mostly because with where I need the printer/the devices on the lan already, and the fact that my 802.11n doesn't work cause of all the over lapping networks. Bridging did in fact work and it did grab an IP address, It just took me a little with Vista being so different to get it properly configured.

Re: Networking with vista

This sounds more like "Networking" rather than "Vista", and the quality of responses might be better if the thread were moved.
