Smile Best performing firewall for vista?

Right now I'm currently using the free version of Comondo Firewall, which in my opinion is pretty good, but it seems like it's for advance users. I was wondering if there are any other firewalls that are user friendly, have a excellent inbound and outbound detection and doesn't need any rule configuration. I'm also behind a Linksys WRT54G router, but just wanting extra security protection.

Re: Best performing firewall for vista?

Hi and Welcome to TSF -

The only firewall that I use is the Windows Firewall. I have found it to be as good as any other.

Windows Vista has 2 way protection, but it's been disabled. However, there is a great little program, which is very light, doesn't take much resources because it's using your Vista firewall, and activates the 2 way firewall in Vista. And best of all it's FREE :-)

Its called "Vista Firewall Control" by Sphinx.

And it's so easy to use, that you won't have any problems. It's really user-friendly.

Re: Best performing firewall for vista?

Vista's firewall is enabled by default - but the outbound protection is poor.
It is possible, but difficult, to configure Vista's firewall.

Comodo personal firewall is compatible with Vista.

Re: Best performing firewall for vista?

I've found that Grisofts AVG is a great firewall for Vista.
