Vista laptiop can not see other computers on network
I am setting up a home network for a friend between a Vista Basic Laptop and XP Professional Desktop.
The XP Professional Desktop is wired and has a printer that is setup to share. The Vista Basic laptop is a wireless. Both have the same workgroup name. Firewall in XP and Vista are off. When I browse the network "My Network Places" with the XP Machine, I see the laptop. But when I view "Network" from the laptop I do not see anything. Network Discovery is turned on. I have setup a home network for myself, same configuration... And As soon as I turned laptop on it automatically found the printer on my desktop. Any other ideas? |

Re: Vista laptiop can not see other computers on network
Did you try hard wiring the laptop with a cat5 instead of relying on the wireless? I had this problem once and I had to hook the laptop up to the internet hard wired and then I could see all computers and printers on my network. Just a thought.
