update windows vista

I need help in getting updates for windows vista.

I have windows vista home premium. Since 15/12/2007 i havent been able to get any updates. I keep getting an error code 8024402C. I have tried the microsoft help for this code but still cant fix.

Any help would be appreciated

Welcome to TSF
I firstly apologise bout the wait, i'm slowly but surely getting through business lol

The error code i believe relates to the connection type but you can try this

1. Open Internet Explorer
2. Click the Tools menu, select Internet Options,
3. Click the Connections tab and now click LAN settings.
4. Under Automatic configuration, select the Automatically detect settings
5. check box, and then click OK.
6. Reboot and try installing them again

I was SO frustrated with this.. but, ok here's my fix/work-around to Vista error 8024402C
This is a proxy error right? So, I went to a free proxy list - I used http://www.proxy4free.com/ and found one thet worked.. Proxy server 209.55.33.101 using port 80

Set my LAN Connections, in Explorer to that and Microsoft update WORKED. *curtsey* You're welcome!!
