I am going crazy!

I have bose companion 5 speakers, i hear static and the music skips all the time, either with c.d.'s or the radio, eventually the speakers stop all together and I get a buzzing sound over the speakers. I had the mother board replaced by Dell and the problem is the same. Can any one solve this 7 month old problem?

Re: I am going crazy!

Uninstall the Sound & Audio Devices in Device Manager & reboot. It should find the drivers & reinstall.

Was the m/b replaced because of this problem ? If so, how did Dell decide the M/B was the problem. And they haven't fixed it yet.

My System

Re: I am going crazy!

Hi savana00!!

Can I know what is the configuration of your hard drive, did you set it RAID mode? sometimes this maybe because of the hard drive configurations. If you set it on RAID mode, try change it back to normal mode and see whether it resolve your issue.

And also, try to update your audio driver to the latest version. I couldn't assist further because I don't have enough information on your system though. Maybe you could work on RAID and driver updates first. If it still not resolve your issue, can you post the detail information about your system specifications on the next post?

Hope this helps

Re: I am going crazy!

The sound card is in mother board. They thought this would cure the problem.

Re: I am going crazy!

1. Open Audio Devices and Sound Themes by clicking the Start button Picture of the Start button, clicking Control Panel, clicking Hardware and Sound, and then clicking Sound.
2. On the Playback tab, click Speakers, and then click Properties.
3. Click the Enhancements tab, and then select the Disable all enhancements check box.

If you don't see an Enhancements tab in the Speakers Properties dialog box, those features are not available for your speakers and this procedure is not applicable to your computer.

If disabling audio enhancements solves the audio problem you're experiencing, this typically indicates that your audio driver needs to be updated.

Also, considering the fact that the mb has been replaced, you could try updating the BIOS
