Vista laptop keeps freezing! Help!

I've been having my laptop computer freeze up on me almost every time I play computer games. When it freezes I hear staticky sounds coming out of the speakers and my cursor moves extremely slow. Every time it revives it pops up a message saying how the "graphics driver" had died but it had been fixed. My laptop hasn't been freezing up until recently, but I have no idea what is going on. Can someone help me?

it sounds like it is overheating,check the air vents are clear of dust
keep an eye on the tempretures with speedfan

I am pretty sure it is not overheating because I usually have my laptop on a table. Not ruling out dust, though.
