I was saying this about ME a few years ago. I never said that about XP a few years ago. I actually say this about Vista and it will be. Actually, there's no need change Xp for Vista. And soon Vienna (their new OS) will be on the market. With, I wish, the features they had announced for Vista. I think that Vista have nothing more than two years of life. In late 2010 it will be dead. You're write about gaming. Gaming experience is mediocre with Linux. About command line time spend; no more than under windows XP. Techs use command line on Windows or on Linux. But user don't need it anymore on Windows or Linux. For services optimization there's black viper who had write some thing about Vista see http://www.blackviper.com/WinVista/servicecfg.htm Last edited by Kataclysm : 09-05-2007 at 01:44 PM. |

Re: High CPU and Memory Usage and others.
Ok, I can see your point better now.
I would personnally also wait a little more before switching to Vista and I'll probably stick with XP as long as MS supports it. It's more because I've learned to know XP and don't like to start from scratch learning the basis of a new OS that because I fear Vista would be less stable or slower. Aero is nice too, even if there was already Beryl on Linux. Soon or later newer apps will be designed for Vista and I fear we'll have to migrate, and when games requiring DX10 will be out gamers will want to switch to Vista anyway. Quote:

Re: High CPU and Memory Usage and others.
Guys, this isn't a discussion on the merits or failings of Vista
![]() Hi Jay, im not sure you need Bitdefender, PC Tools and AVG running at the same time? That may be part of your problem?

BitDefender = Anti Virus (Only) PC Tools = Firewall (I dont like Vista's Firewall) AVG = Antispyware Vista seems to be running quicker now, I disables some stuff and change what starts up, Ran Sfc.exe and it all faster that what it was, but its not to slow. Thanks. |

Re: High CPU and Memory Usage and others.
Good point Nick
![]() I noticed that as well but Bitdefender is the antivirus, PC tools is the firewall and it's AVG anti-spyware and not the Antivirus. I think it could help to get rid of bitdefender and use AVG instead and use XP's firewall instead of PC Tools.

Re: High CPU and Memory Usage and others.
I dont like XP's Firewall as well. XP runs a bit fast.
Vista is alot better. With xp and vista i can download as many things at one time and till have the speed over 120Kb/s |
