dual boot issue Vista and xp
Hi,
![]() I have bought a Acer Aspire laptop with Win Vista premium installed. The problem is some of my games did not work on it, so I decided to install XP on one of the partition. It has C drive around 60 gb and D (data) drive with abt 60 gb I booted with XP deleted the D partition, (the data one) and created two partitions of it(around 30gb for xp and another partition for maybe win2000 later on) now the problem is once i installed win xp, I booted, installed the drivers, i noticed I was not getting a dual boot between Vista and XP. It just goes straight to load windows XP as if Vista never existed. Once im in XP i can still access my files on the c drive and notice vista is still there.I have read up that you can use BCD easy, something to correct the MBR. I have never done this before, or got a idea how to do this? ![]() If one of us guys can help me out it would be much appreciated. I just wanted to add I dont have the full Win Vista Disc, only recovery discs Last edited by harks68 : 07-13-2007 at 01:27 PM. Re: dual boot issue Vista and xp
This link will give you all you need to know, and the link to easybcd. This is what I used the first time I did this (I have done it many times since)
