Vista Clean Install...

I am considering a "clean install" for my PC,

I did the compatability check from MS website and it passed except for a couple "device details"...

1. Nvidia Geforce 7500 LE (no compatability data available)
2. Trend Micro Common Firewall mini port (same as above)
3. Nvidia nforce networking controller (same as above)
4. Realtek High Definition Audio (same as above)

- Is this a "major" problem to fix before installing Vista?
**Hp's website only has driver downloads for XP for my desktop so I would go into the install with Vista hopefully picking them up

The application said I only had to download a update for Windows MSGr before continuing , thats done.

I just wrote a couple drivers to a cd;

- The realtek one from these forums
- A Nvidia driver (from 3dGuru)

Still am a little hesitant about install but any advice is appreciated. (I'll probably do it tonighbt or tomorrow)

Make sure ALL of your drivers are updated and run the test again... but personally I would have waited until SP1 came out for Vista.

After you update put all of your computers drivers onto a flash drive then do a format and load vista... be careful Vista is still buggy

Thanks for the concern man,

But I did install it. I am treading lightly so far. The only thing is that , although the partition setup was easier then expected, I dont know how to set the OS to have it install files on my "open/bigger" partition.

**With Xp, I had a small 8or9gb partition for the core OS and the rest on the other. I still dont know how to tell Vista to install on :D: instead of :C:...any ideas?

Well I just have been manually saving new programs into the other partition.
( disk :D instead of :C) Works good, just have to remember to do this everytime. (and for my fiance too when she downloads things)

**I still know that every new program will still have files, and take up some space, on my "OS Partition" in form of ala Registry or Desktop Shortcuts.

Man, fellas were not kidding about how this OS uses more resources then standard to run. I am lucky to have 4gb RAM. If I had this on my Lappy (1gb) it would suck I am sure. If anyone ever finds a way for me to program Vista to route all new setups to my created partition (which is other then :C)...please let me know. Unlike some, I really like Vista so far. Although quite buggy , but not ME buggy.
