Question No Hibernation tab in Power Options - it isn't allowed in PAE mode?

Basically I upgraded my computer from 2 to 4gb of RAM and then did a clean install of Windows only to find that hibernation had disappeared from the power options tabs. After a bit of digging I came across a M$ Support KB article relating to Windows 2000, but it did mention that if PAE mode was enabled hibernation wouldn't be available. So I kind of figured from that my extra 2GB of RAM would have made Windows turn on PAE mode when I reinstalled it. Checking System properties, this is the case, and sure enough after some more digging I found the command "powercfg.exe /hibernate on" so I tried it in command prompt and it told me PAE was enabled and thus Hibernation was prevented from being turned on.

Is there any particular reason for this? I seem to recall reading it was because of memory corruption issues when I was searching but, I can't find that now. Wasn't this ever fixed (assuming it was something that could be fixed to begin with)? Not that I'm all that bothered - I can just switch the thing off if I want ultimate power saving, since that is all I used Hibernation for (I didn't use standby because it seemed to cause a major buggerup somewhere along the lines that made the system fail upon waking it up).
