Network Connection Problem
Hello all. I have a problem that is driving me crazy. I heard this was an excellent place to get help so hopefully we can get this resolved.
I recently brought over a file server from building B to our current site, building A. It is running Windows Server 2003 R2. If i plug in a network cable it tries to acquire an IP address and then shortly after says the connection is unplugged. If I disable and re enable the connection I get the same result. If I disable it, and then give it a static IP address, and enable the connection again it will connect for about 2 seconds and then disconnect. I put another NIC in it and got the same results. The cable I am using is a good cable. It was working perfectly fine before I brought it over here. Any ideas? |

Re: Network Connection Problem
Did you try a different ports on your switch? Do you use a managed switch?

Re: Network Connection Problem
What is the event log reporting. This may help solve the problem. Why is the server setup for DHCP? All servers should have static IP addresses? Is your DHCP server ok. Enough IPs in the pool?? Please provide more info so we can help you
