A client brought me a "dead" win2k server first installed 6/04. It is now 4 years later and a problem has cropped up. Users cannot connect via RDP.
I seem to have traced this to a Terminal server licensing issue. Terminal Services Licensing Version 5.0 (build 2195: Service Pack 4) The server shows there are 50 terminal services licenses in use. Windows Server Per Seat allocated:50 0 purchased. I can add "purchased" licenses to no benefit. I count 49 instances in the Licenses used in "Existing Windows 2000 License" Right now the only connections that work are those that were happy before the last license was used in april. The question is, how do I "rescind" some of these licenses. Item of note: When trying to add a license I get the error "The Licensing Wizard cannot connect to the license server registry. Check your network connections, and then retry the operation. Message Number:0x35" |
