Server2003 SP2 WDS without previous RIS
I need a PXE boot on my server so that I can deploy Ghost images to multiple clients. I read about RIS and that is perfect for me. Problem is my server is running 2003 service pack2 and RIS was replaced with Windows Deployment Services (WDS). To make it even better, the geniuses at {M} decided to make the installation of RIS a prerequisite for WDS. Since this particular server was built straight to SP2 without RIS installed I need some figuring out how I get my clients to boot to the server. Can I retrofit RIS somehow or would I have to uninstall SP2 for that. Is there another option for me to get a PXE server running on this machine. I know my way around a Windows box pretty thouroughly but I am new to the PXE thing.
Thanks, Paul |
