Recycle Bin Malfunctioning
Anybody knows what might be the cause the recycle bin on Windows 2000 Server (stand alone) suddenly stopped catching deleted files upon hitting the Delete button as it normally supposes to do and actually did previously?
How to fix this problem and make the deleted files again go to the recycle bin first? Obviously, I checked the Properties of the Recycle bin itself and the option "to delete files circumventing the Recycle Bin" is unmarked. Obviously, the SP4 is also installed. The Microsoft support I found on the Microsoft site relates to different recycle bin behavior problems, and I didn't take a risk following the solutions that are not explicitly related to my particular case. ![]() A swift response will be highly appreciated. Re: Recycle Bin Malfunctioning
Just a silly question; are you deleting items from another machine via admin share? If so, then they wont be found in the recycling bin. Not sure if you could even slave the drive and recover.

Re: Recycle Bin Malfunctioning
Dear Renegade X,
thank you for yor response. I agree with you about how you called your question. But seriously, my answer is - no, I am deleting from the same machine, which I have admin rights for (Windows 2000 Server stand-alone). Amazingly, or to be more precise - after running hundreds times RegCure and RegFix, my creepy Recycle Bin just started working as it was when being a virgin. I was just about to announce this happy resurrection here for all of you so friendly responding to this embarassing problem. Now I discovered a mysterious new folder in C root created most likely by celestial forces (or damn hackers, who knows?) and full of my own programs I wrote in VB, which are now duplicated (happily, not erased, as far as I know: didn't have enough time to check all of them). And the computer sound now working a few first minutes after rebooting and then disappears. So I have now a lot to figure out breaking my headbone. Thank you all who had shown sympathy with my problems. Regards, Constantine |
